Tomato Sauce contains lycopene

Lycopene is a non-provitamin A carotenoid and a very potent antioxidant.

By heating the tomatoes you easier get the lycopene found in them.

Lycopene is bright red and therefore found in fruits and vegetables that are red like tomatoes. But are not found in strawberries or cherries.

You find lycopene-rich foods in:
